Hi all
So the news website has been finished and the submission news submission part is finished. The newsletter section is ready. So it is effectively fully operational.

The front page of the news site.
Around the clubs
It has quite a bit of utility to it other than just putting up news articles. We have if we start with the beginning of the flow, we have the ability for the website to pick up all of Facebook's posts and present them. That's in the around the clubs section. There is an unprotected share point where people without facebook can include photos and blurb and appear 'around the clubs' without using facebook.

Around the Clubs, pulled from club Facebook posts.

The public share point. No Facebook, no login.
Feature Articles
Then we have articles. There are two types of articles.
The feature article articles are the ones that we want people to read. So they're the messages from the president, results of interstate competition, we've got the different balls. We've got some stuff about El Nino and some stuff about Murray Tinker. So they're all things that we want our members to read.

Feature articles in this issue.
Plain Articles & AI targeting
These are written more for AI search effectively. Over time the feature articles will drop down into the pool of articles to answer search or AI questions basically.
I've attached the search engine optimization and the AI optimization report and if interested you will understand its purpose. I will be attacking questions like 'I play pickleball but my knees hurt' kind of things. Hence not feature articles, they sit in the background. So far I've been priming it for simple 'come and try' and try croquet and all the croquet words. So that when people directly ask about us, we are found. Now we go on to being in other areas of AI answers.

A background article, written to answer a question people are already asking.
A dedicated Claude regularly runs analysis to fit more articles into the AI answer capacity we aim for. It will aggressively target the AI answers.
This is not something our competitors will be doing.
The newsletter
The newsletter picks up on the feature articles and around the clubs and puts together the email with the blurbs and headline pictures in a mini version of the site. All the links are tracked so we know what type of things people enjoy reading about.
Submissions
I touched on submissions, which have 3 inputs
- Facebook posts by clubs
- Share.CroquetQld.org (or equivalent) quickshare
- MyCroquet integrated submission of feature articles
I will send a separate email about the submission system, but it is designed to make it basic to put in longer articles on anything. So Murray can post up news on his doings with a full articles with pictures and videos. John could write a bit about visiting Twin Rivers' new club house and drop a few videos from his phone of the work.

Writing a feature article in MyCroquet: a headline, a cover image, and a body editor with buttons for pictures and video.
On the quickshare Addison could do a video of him whacking the hoop from the otherside of the lawn. Someone can share quickly a beautiful sunset photo over their courts. Then 'Around the Clubs' isn't Facebook exclusive.
The check
When a quickshare or an article is given it will be checked by AI first. A very strict look where it only passes through to publication articles its read and looked at the pictures and it's 100% sure its a genuine croquet story. Once anything seems an issue (eg names + negative connotations surrounding them) it is held for a Newshound (editor) to approve.
What's automatic
All the set up is done automatically. The general formatting is done by submittor, but the final set up is done by AI for publication. In the background it set up the web addresses, the lookup marketing data, tells google etc about the new article, adds it to the RSS feed and probably other things I've forgotten. All the stuff previously cost shitloads, took ages of time or just wasn't done.
What's next
So that's that. The next edition I want to tell people they must contribute and kick all the croquetclaude stuff off the front page of the news site. we want human stuff in there, with maybe the occasional thing like handicap analysis or AI training croquet players. robot v robot stuff.
human stories need to be told by humans. (this is also to prevents everyone typing into chatgpt 'make me a croquet story' and posting it to us)
